Metro Line from Greater Noida in talks

While the people in Noida have already been rejoicing with the news of Jewar Airport underway, there’s yet another reason for them to cheer. The announcement of setting up a Metro link that stretches for 29 kilometers between Greater Noida and the Airport underway.

This news has been confirmed by, The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). After they officially approved a Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR), making property near Jewar Airport seem like hot-cakes of the real estate world.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) is responsible for producing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) after carrying out requisite studies to understand and assess the viability of this Metro line.

According to an official statement released by YEIDA Officials on Tuesday, this report is expected soon. This much-hyped line will be connected to the Aqua line that was launched recently and connects Noida with Greater Noida.

Thereby offering great accessibility to the Jewar International Airport from all areas of Delhi-NCR. According to sources, the corridor is expected to be built at an elevation and is expected to stand parallel to the green belt along the Yamuna Expressway.

The corridor will start from Pari Chowk, which is the zero point of the Yamuna Expressway and will end at Jewar Airport.

This line will provide two-fold advantages of linking Greater Noida as well as boosting the overall connectivity of the region to rest of Delhi NCR.

After receiving the TEFR from DMRC, they will bring up the report during the next board meeting which is scheduled for March end. After it receives support in the meeting, it will be forwarded to Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC).

Then, the final tasks of identifying the financial and operational plan for the project will be received from the State Government.

According to current plans, the International Airport should be operational by 2023. Hence, the plan is to have the Metro line ready at the same time.
